THANK YOU for joining us at Iron Savannah 2019!

A brilliant weekend of fun, running and camping out in the Kenyan savannah. A HUGE thank you to everyone who helped organise, participated or sponsored the event. We can’t wait for the next edition! Get the 15th November in your diaries now.

At the start of this month Xavier Project headed south to Mila Tisa, Kenya to host our annual Iron Savannah fundraising event. Runners arrived on Saturday afternoon to set up camp before heading off for a guided walk through the stunning savannah to a waterfall in the mountains. In the evening, Xavier Project staff, attendees and some of our refugee students came together for a delicious meal, a bonfire under a sky full or stars and an exciting performance by local Massai dancers. The next morning we were all up with the sunrise for an early breakfast before heading to the starting line. Overall we had 38 runners participating in the run with 15 taking on the full 21km and 23 doing the 10.5km. Mr Samuel Lekotene crossed the finish line first – completing the 21km in an impressive 1hr 14mins.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone attended the event, to those who took on the trail run and for those of you who sponsored us. We are already excited for next years edition which is set to take place on the 15th-16th NOVEMBER 2019. Get it in your diaries now. We hope we’ll see you there!
